I pulled cards on four cameras today and I finally got a nice buck on camera. I actually think I got him on two different cameras about 200 yards and two hours apart. There were plenty of does with twins and a few coyotes and several raccoons. I also got a few nice turkey pictures. The two cameras on the ridge had decent action these last two weeks. Even though there weren’t a bunch of good bucks up there, the does with fawns were moving through daily. The scrape cam in the bottom had plenty of does, but not a single buck. The last time I pulled cards two weeks ago, I had several pics of a nice young buck at that scrape. Hopefully the big boys will start using it shortly. The edge cam along the river had the most pictures, including about twenty pictures of the good buck. I was surprised to not get a single buck on camera with polished antlers. I’m really starting to look forward to the upcoming season. I had been pretty nervous as I’ve never gone this deep into the summer without having a single buck on camera that would make me reach for my bow when I see him coming. Hopefully I can meet up with this guy next month.
