Wow! What a great contest, the Wisconsin NWTF folks put on! As always they had great judging, and the turn out was very good for a local contest. The level of the callers at this contest was one of the highest that I have been to here in the Mid West on a local level, in a very long time. The top 8 callers in the open had all won an Open or State contest in the last year or so, with a few who have won honors at the National level. For me it was great to see everyone, and get to call against the very best in the upper Mid West. Big Thank You to all the Judges and NWTF Volunteers that make calling contests like this possible!
I placed 7th in both the Open and Friction but that was all on me, I didn’t make a clean run and that always hurts the score. It did however give me the stage time before I head to Nashville next week. I know what I want to work on and what I need to fix. The big stage at NWTF Grand National Calling Championships in Nashville, TN will be full of the very best turkey callers in the world. It’s an honor to share the stage with them.
