Coming off my second place finish at the 2014 Iowa State Turkey Calling Championship last weekend, it’s on to 2014 Game Fair Turkey Calling Contest in Anoka, MN. The Game Fair in it’s self is the largest show of it’s kind. They have a little of everything at this show. Calling Seminars:
Saturday at 10:30 am: Shane Simpson, 2014 Minnesota State Open Champion, will share his calling knowledge to help you consistently lure in gobblers and explain what you can do to improve your calling as well.
Sunday at 10:30 am: Brian Lovett, editor at Turkey & Turkey Hunting Magazine, will share his secrets for hunting tough gobblers.

Divisions Information:
Open Division (open to anyone, any age and you may use any friction type or air operated call): $5 entry fee, 1st: $100 and a plaque, 2nd & 3rd: $50 and a plaque.
Required Calls: plain yelp, cutting of a hen, kee kee run and fly-down cackle
Friction Division (open to any caller using only friction type turkey calls): $5 entry fee, 1st: $75 and plaque, 2nd & 3rd: $25, a turkey pot call and plaque.
Required Calls: plain yelp, cutting of a hen, assembly yelps and fly-down cackle
Youth Division (ages 12 and under): $5 entry fee, 1st: $100, a turkey pot call and plaque, 2nd & 3rd: $50, a turkey pot call and plaque.
Required calls: plain yelp, cluck and caller’s choice
Locator Division (winner take all): $5 entry, 1st: Prize from Weaver Optics, all the cash from this division’s entry fees and plaque.
Required calls: sounds of a barred owl, crow and caller’s choice of pileated woodpecker, coyote or canada goose.
This is a NWTF sanctioned event.
