This year has really gotten away from me, and I finally pulled camera cards for the first time of the summer. I tried a few new sets this year based off where I saw bucks last year on camera as well as from the stand. This didn’t work out so well for me, as picture numbers as well as good buck pictures were much lower than I had hoped. I did manage to get a few good pictures, and I think these areas will start producing better once summer winds down and the velvet comes off. Some of these pictures are a bit dated, as these cameras ran for just over ten weeks undisturbed, which I believe is a personal record. Since they had been out so long, I hauled a pile of batteries along, but as usual, I didn’t need them. The Moultrie was down to 43% but those batteries have been in since the dead of winter in carcass cam season, so I went ahead and swapped them out. The Covert and USA Cams were all still above 75% battery level, so I didn’t mess with them. I did get a few pics of one really good buck, as well as a few that are going to be tough to pass, but I think they really should get another year. I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
