It started early this year with the first picture of this buck showing up on June 7 and me wondering what he will look like once the season came. To say the least I have been pleased each time I see him the more excited I get. He gets bigger every time I see him and he is really easy to identify with the notch in his right ear. I decided to call him “Notched”. He has been traveling with a group of bucks, some small and some a little nicer. I have close to 100 trail cam pictures of him by now. I decided that it was time to get in a box blind with my digital camera and try to get some pictures of him. He had been coming through that area almost daily.
He was the first deer out of the timber at just 30 yards from one of my stand sets. If his routine stay consistent, it makes me think I have a chance. The first field he stopped at was my clover food plot. Then he traveled across the valley and passed 60 yards in front of my box blind. Which made for a good photo opportunity. I hope to get out to my brothers blind, he uses for rifle hunting, because it makes for a great observation blind. I can pin point deer where they are entering the field and exiting, this comes in handy when deciding where to hand my sets. It is easy to get into this blind with out disturbing anything. I hope to be posting some more pictures of him… soon and hopefully a ending to the story.
