Well it is truly my favorite time of year!! The bucks are losing their velvet and starting to split up. They are polishing their antlers and getting more active every day!! Bow season for us in Iowa is 2 weeks away. The BEST part is that Youth Season starts this Saturday the 19th of September!! I love taking my kids or other kids out to hunt deer. It is often a new experience for the kids but once they go it becomes a tradition quickly.
This year my oldest son 16 and too old to participate in the youth season. So I get to take my 13 year old Garrett. I will be taking a young man named Mason from our church for his first time. Youth Season starts Sept.19th this year. These times excite me more than anything and I am also excited to show you some of the bucks we will be hunting this weekend and on through the season.
