During the summer months when there isn’t much to do in the outdoors besides fishing. My family an I love to shoot our bows. We have little competitions that break up the routine of just target shooting. From time to time we might hit up a 3D shoot as well. I’ve been blessed that I was able to get the entire family involved in something like archery. My wife Felicia just got a brand new PSE Verge for Mother’s Day. My son has been shooting with me for a few years now an he absolutely loves it. With my daughter Morghann turning five she will have her own bow here pretty quick. Her bow has to be pink I was informed! As for myself I shoot a PSE DNA that I love.
Archery is our family fun time. My mother, brothers and all my uncles all shoot. I purchased my first bow when I was 14 years old an the passion of bow hunting started from there. Being fourteen an having a bow was the easy part. The hard part was that I had no clue what I was doing . So I learned through mistakes. I was shooting 60 lbs with a 2117 aluminum arrow tipped with a 90 gain 4 blade muzzy. An shooting fingers!! So it’s amazing how the times have changed from then to now. I hope that every bow hunter gets the chance to learn and grow from practice and the mistakes made in an out of the field. Bow hunting in my opinion is a game of patients and persistence. You win some an you lose some but at the end of the day it sure beats a good day at work. Keep up with the target shooting through these summer months an it will pay off this fall. Your knowledge of your equipment and it’s capabilities are essential to success.. Stay turned to more Victory Outdoors.
